This Cancellation Policy outlines the rules and procedures related to the cancellation of bookings made through the Lebanon Locals platform. It applies to both guests and hosts and is incorporated by reference into Lebanon Locals’ Terms of Service. By using the Lebanon Locals platform, you agree to comply with the terms set forth in this Cancellation Policy.

Lebanon Locals reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Changes will be posted to the website, and continued use of the platform will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.

1. Guest Cancellations

1.1 Guests may cancel a confirmed booking at any time prior to the check-in date, subject to the applicable cancellation policy set by the host at the time of booking.

1.2 Each listing on the Lebanon Locals platform may include one of the following cancellation policy types, selected by the host:

  • Flexible: Full refund for cancellations made up to 48 hours before check-in.

  • Moderate: Full refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in.

  • Strict: 50% refund for cancellations made at least 14 days before check-in. No refund thereafter.

1.3 If the host fails to select a cancellation policy, the default policy will be set to "Moderate."

1.4 Refunds are processed according to the applicable policy and are based on the total booking amount, excluding platform fees which may be non-refundable.

1.5 Guests who cancel due to verified extenuating circumstances (e.g. medical emergencies, natural disasters, or government-imposed travel restrictions) may be eligible for a full or partial refund at the sole discretion of Lebanon Locals. Supporting documentation may be required.

1.6 Cancellations made after the check-in date are not eligible for a refund unless covered by the Lebanon Locals Guest Refund Policy.

2. Host Cancellations

2.1 Hosts may cancel a confirmed booking only under exceptional circumstances. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension or removal from the platform.

2.2 If a host cancels a booking, the guest will receive a full refund, including any service fees paid. Lebanon Locals will make reasonable efforts to assist the guest in finding alternative accommodations.

2.3 Hosts who cancel without valid justification may be subject to the following penalties:

  • Automatic public review on their listing indicating the cancellation

  • Temporary suspension of their listing

  • Administrative fees or reduced visibility on the platform

2.4 Lebanon Locals reserves the right to waive penalties if the cancellation is due to extenuating circumstances beyond the host’s control.

3. No-Show Policy

3.1 If a guest fails to check in without formally cancelling the reservation, the host is entitled to retain the full booking amount in accordance with the selected cancellation policy.

3.2 In the event of a no-show, the reservation will be considered canceled after 24 hours unless otherwise communicated through the Lebanon Locals platform.

4. Cancellation by Lebanon Locals

4.1 Lebanon Locals may cancel a reservation at any time in response to:

  • Verified safety concerns or fraudulent activity

  • Violations of platform rules by either party

  • Requests under applicable law or authority

4.2 In such cases, Lebanon Locals will determine refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis and may, at its discretion, relocate the guest or take action against the offending party.

5. Refund Process

5.1 All eligible refunds will be processed through the original payment method used at the time of booking.

5.2 Refunds may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on the financial institution and payment processor.

5.3 Platform fees and processing fees may be excluded from the refunded amount unless otherwise determined by Lebanon Locals.

6. Dispute Resolution

6.1 In the event of a dispute regarding a cancellation, both guests and hosts agree to cooperate in good faith with Lebanon Locals to resolve the matter promptly.

6.2 Lebanon Locals reserves the right to make the final determination in any cancellation-related dispute.
