Cancellation & Refunds Policy
Lebanon Locals reserves the right to amend this policy at any time. Changes will be posted to this page, and continued use of the platform will indicate acceptance of the revised terms.
1. Guest Cancellations
1.1 Guests may cancel a confirmed booking at any time before the check-in date, according to the cancellation policy selected by the host at the time of booking.
1.2 Hosts may choose from the following cancellation policy types:

Flexible: Full refund for cancellations made up to 48 hours before check-in.

Moderate: Full refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in.

Strict: 50% refund for cancellations made at least 14 days before check-in. No refund thereafter.
1.3 If a host does not select a cancellation policy, the default policy will be set to Moderate.
1.4 Refunds are issued according to the applicable policy and are based on the total booking amount, excluding non-refundable platform fees.
1.5 Guests who cancel due to verified extenuating circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies, natural disasters, government travel restrictions) may be eligible for a full or partial refund at the sole discretion of Lebanon Locals. Supporting documentation may be required.
1.6 Cancellations made after check-in are not eligible for a refund unless covered by the Lebanon Locals Guest Refund Policy.
2. Host Cancellations
2.1 Hosts may cancel a confirmed booking only under exceptional circumstances. Repeated or unjustified cancellations may lead to account suspension or removal.
2.2 If a host cancels, the guest will receive a full refund, including service fees. Lebanon Locals will assist the guest in finding alternative accommodations where possible.
2.3 Hosts who cancel without valid reason may face penalties, including:

A public review stating the cancellation

Temporary suspension of their listing

Administrative fees or reduced visibility
2.4 Penalties may be waived if the cancellation results from verified extenuating circumstances.
3. No-Show Policy
3.1 If a guest fails to check in and does not cancel, the host may retain the full booking amount according to the selected policy.
3.2 A reservation will be considered canceled after 24 hours of no communication via the Lebanon Locals platform.
4. Cancellation by Lebanon Locals
4.1 Lebanon Locals may cancel a booking at any time in response to:

Verified safety concerns or fraudulent behavior

Violations of platform policies

Requests by law enforcement or other authorities
4.2 In these cases, Lebanon Locals will assess refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis and may assist the guest with alternate arrangements.
5. Refund Process
5.1 Refunds are processed to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
5.2 Refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on the payment provider.
5.3 Platform and processing fees may be excluded from the refund unless otherwise determined by Lebanon Locals.
6. Dispute Resolution
6.1 In the event of a cancellation dispute, both parties agree to cooperate in good faith with Lebanon Locals to resolve the issue.
6.2 Lebanon Locals reserves the right to make the final decision in any matter related to cancellation.
