At Lebanon Locals, we believe the deepest connections are made when we share knowledge passed down through generations. The wisdom of the land, held by the elders in our villages, is a treasure. We created this experience to honor that tradition and to give travelers a rare opportunity to learn from a true local expert. This is more than a tour; it's a chance to connect with the earth, taste the authentic flavors of the mountains, and share a moment with a Lebanese grandmother.

Step off the beaten path and into the heart of the Lebanese mountains to learn the land's secrets from the person who knows them best: a local grandmother (teta). This is a unique journey into the world of wild foraging, where you'll discover the traditional herbs that form the foundation of our cuisine. Your day begins with a gentle walk through the stunning trails of the Faraya mountains. Guided by a wise and wonderful teta, you'll learn to identify, smell, and sustainably harvest wild herbs like za'atar (wild thyme), sumac, and other seasonal greens. After our walk, we'll return to a village home where the real magic happens. You'll learn the traditional techniques for drying and preparing the herbs before getting your hands dirty and making fresh man'ouche on a saj, topped with the very ingredients you just foraged.
